Humbled Females ~ FAQupdated March 26, 2010 |
|
Q001. For whom is this site intended? This site is intended for women who wish to learn more about their submissive nature, and for those who receive, openly enjoy and encourage their submission. We hope the site will also be helpful to those who wish to understand more about the submissive mindset and the dynamics of Dominant/submissive relationships without necessarily feeling predisposed to submission or dominance themselves. top |

Q002. Is this web site affiliated with any religious organization? No. While we do not discourage religious worship, we neither advocate nor associate with any unifying religious doctrine or practice. That being said, we find inspiration and information in a wide variety of resources. We are open-minded, and some of us consider how the teachings of all the world's religions and many works of great literature might help us to better understand our personal journeys. top |
|
Q003. Is this site focused on sex? Certainly not. Our focus is on the body and mind of the submissive female. Since sex is the primal engine behind so many of our complex desires, sexual submission is often the first instinct to manifest itself naturally in our interests and expressions. Sexual submission is not where this site solely concerns itself, however. We feel the combined forms of intellectual, emotional and spiritual submission are equally and ultimately more important if one aims to be submissive in the truest sense of the word. top |

Q004. Is this another "BDSM" site? While the BDSM (Bondage and Discipline, Domination and Submission, Sadism and Masochism) "culture" is commonly associated with those of like mind, it is not ubiquitous in all those who identify with us. This is a crucial point we feel many may tend to overlook. While some may enjoy the social and commercial movement BDSM has become, others strongly feel they cannot relate to its formulaic theatrics and assumed "laws." Our goal is not to discuss the finer points of latex or leather, but focus upon female submission from the psychological, sexual, philosophical, intellectual and spiritual pathways, without a need to be politically correct. We want to study and define what true submission is — how to nurture it in women, perfect it in oneself, and differentiate it from other less sincere and self-serving facades. top |

Q005. Isn't submission a sign of weakness? Weakness is usually regarded as an inadequate quality or feature in a person or thing. When speaking of true submission, this couldn't be any farther from the truth. It takes great inner strength to surrender one's will to another. While a woman's submissive status may not seem to empower her in an immediately obvious sense, she finds fulfillment through submission, and her submission certainly strengthens those benefiting from her labor and love. If what she provides gives others health and happiness — and by virtue, more strength — how can this be attributed to weakness? By her acts of devotion she is providing pleasure and advancement for those she serves, strengthening in turn all who surround her. Indeed, it is an ancient role of the female. In many circles of our pro-feminist (and supposedly, pro-choice) culture, a woman is often scorned as weak by her sisters for openly displaying too much servile behavior, especially to a male. This is an ignorant attack born of contemporary social programming rather than an honest assessment of her strengths or abilities. top |

Q006. I'm a feminist and I find this site appalling. What can I do? Submission and feminism are not mutually exclusive. Please read our base tenets page. If you really feel compelled to save all the women of the world, get off this site and make a considerable donation to Amnesty International or help out as much as you can at a rape and abuse shelter. We assure you that your time and energy will be far better spent pursuing those ideas than haunting an online community of voluntary membership. top |
|
Q007. Who created this site, and why? This web site was initially created by a small group of like-minded individuals who united under a common vision: to promote the many rewarding aspects of complete and authentic female submission and educate those who may be seeking it. This vision is sustained by the new site management. Much of this site's content is in fact a culmination of thoughts and efforts from many contributors who share the same philosophy. If you would like to contribute to this site, please contact us and we will consider your article or visual works for submission. top |

Q008. What is the Humbled Females "community"? This website was founded in 2005 hand in hand with a Humbled_Females Livejournal community - http://community.livejournal.com/humbled_females, where roughly 700 message threads with 10,000 posts have been created by men and women sharing an interest in female submission to dominant men. The community was put into dormancy in 2009. We are delighted that, with the revival of this website under new management, the companion Humbled Females Livejournal community has also been reopened for new posts and will continue to be maintained by the founder. The archived posts can be read by community members, and membership is now open to all. We will be drawing on some of the experiences and sentiments shared in the Humbled Females community as we expand the website. We encourage you to join and contribute to the Humbled Females community, just as we encourage you to contribute to our collection of essays here. top |

Q009. Does this site cost anything? No. Never. The entire purpose of this site is to diffuse our philosophy and human understanding, not capitalize upon it. top |
|
Q010. I'm under eighteen. Should I be here? While many of us personally don't feel the budding point of natural intellectual curiosity, sexuality or ability to comprehend starts at the age of eighteen, for legal reasons we must respectfully request all visitors be of legal age when reading and viewing the content on this site. This is not a moral decision, but a legal one. top |
|
Q011. I have a question, comment or submission. How can I contact the webmaster / administrator of this site? You may contact us or follow the "Comment On This" link at the end of each article. Additionally, see our section on Essay Guidelines. top |
